Dr. Doug Mackey

Dentistry has taken Doug Mackey many places in Atlantic Canada, but he always had a sense that he’d end up living in a town like Coldbrook.

Doug is originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador where he completed a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education. He and his wife moved to Halifax so Doug could pursue his education in dentistry. At Dalhousie University, he received his Bachelor of Science in 1995 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1999.

It’s while he lived in Halifax that Doug and his wife discovered the Annapolis Valley, taking frequent day trips. They developed a fondness for the area very quickly. So it’s not surprising that they eventually moved with their two sons to Coldbrook, where he began practicing.

From 2008-2020, Doug served on the National Dental Examining Board of Canada and was its President from 2016- 2018. He has also been a part-time instructor at Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Dentistry. In 2021, Doug assumed the role of Registrar of the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia. He continues to practice in Coldbrook on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Outside the office, Doug enjoys cycling and a variety of other outdoor activities with his family. As well, he has remained active in his community both in church music leadership and community musical theatre.

Dr. Jin Ng

Dr. Jin started his dental training in Malaysia and moved to Halifax in 2018 where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgeon in 2021. Since then, he joined Alliance Dental Coldbrook where he strives to provide quality dental care to the patients under his care. When he is not treating patients, Dr Jin enjoys spending time with his wife and fur baby.

Dr. Cassandra Lee

Dr. Cassandra Lee was born and raised in Malaysia. She arrived in Halifax in 2018 with her husband Jin to study dentistry at Dalhousie University, and graduated in 2021. She fell in love with Nova Scotia and has since been providing dental care to patients around the Annapolis Valley. Outside of her scrubs, she loves spending time with her husband and her fur babies. She also enjoys karaoke and you might catch her humming along to the radio at work!
